About Us

INTRODUCTION

The Research Center of Developmental Biology and Regenerated Medicine at National Taiwan University (NTUCDBRM) was established on Jul 1st, 2010. Our mission is focusing on functional morphogenesis and dedicating to promote the research and development of stem cell medicine, tissue engineering, developmental biology, and regenerative medicine. With the efforts of all center’s members, we have built our center to be on of best exchange network in Taiwan for researchers in related fields.

Missions

  1. To sustain related center business and international exchange.
  2. To organize center research teams to strive for large scale research projects.
  3. To promote communication and cooperation with other related NTU research centers.
  4. To boost interdisciplinary communication and cooperation for research excellency.

Future Prospects

Ongoing Initiatives
  1. To become an exchange platform for knowledge and subjects and to hold regular meeting and gathering activities in developmental biology-related fields.
  2. To assist the teaching of development of biology and regenerative medicine related courses in the Department of Life science and others.
  3. To organize NTUCDBRM summer internship program for undergraduate students.
Future plans

    4. To promote and facilitate NTU international industry-academia collaborations.

Estabishment

Article 1
To promote the integrated basic and applied research in stem cell medicine, tissue engineering, developmental biology, and regenerative medicine, Nation Taiwan University (NTU) has established this functional research center named NTU Developmental Biology and Regenerative Medicine (NTUCDRM).

Article 2
The missions of NTUCDRM are:
To promote the integrated basic and applied research in stem cell medicine, tissue engineering, developmental biology in NTU, we mainly focus on functional morphogenesis and the ultima goal is working on translation medicine for clinical application.
To assist in the integration of stem cell medicine, tissue engineering, developmental biology and regenerative medicine related courses in NTU, including courses at undergraduate and graduate levels, and also those offered by the Program of Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine and the Program of Systems Biology and Bioinformatics.
To help with other research and teaching related business in stem cell medicine, tissue engineering, developmental biology and regenerative medicine.

Article 3
The NTUCDRM is steered by an Advisory Board Committee consist of 9 to 15 members. The committee should be chaired by the Executive Vice President. Other members are selected from on and off campus experts of related fields and appointed by the NTU President.

Article 4
The NTUCDRM has one director to oversee the center business. The term of director is three years, which can be renewed. Two to three deputy directors are there to assist the director in running the center. One executive officer and three to five deputy executive officers are in charge of execution of assigned center business. The director should be selected from full professors with relevant expertise in NTU and jointly appointed by the NTU President. The deputy directors and executive officer are selected by the center director from NTU faculty with relevant expertise, recommended to the NTU President for joint appointment. The deputy executive officers are selected from NTU faculty with relevant expertise for joint appointment. The above-mentioned center staffs serve the same term as the center director.

Article 5
The business of NTUCDRM is coordinated and run by the Executive Officer under the command of the center director. The deputy executive officers are responsible for one of the following business, including teaching, research, international exchange, industry-academia cooperation and ethics consultancy.

Article 6
The NTUCDRM may set up research groups and additional units upon demands for special research projects or industrial cooperation. The leaders of each research group and the heads of the additional units are invited from NTU faculty and appointed by the center director. The term of those leaders or heads is one year, which can be renewed.

Article 7
The NTUCDRM can appoint on and off campus experts as distinguished research fellows or special project fellows as well as contract-based technicians or administrative staffs.

Article 8
The NTUCDRM should hold center business meetings at a regular basis. The meeting is composed of the director, deputy director, executive officer, and deputy chief executive. The meeting is called by the director who serves as chairman of the meeting.

Article 9
This establishment should be approved by the NTU Executive Council and become effective from the date of promulgation thereof.
